Kindling The Lights Concert and Hanukkah Celebration

Featuring The Rebbe's Orkestra
December 16th at 6:30 pm

THE REBBE'S ORKESTRA, a 5-piece nationally recognized ensemble, presents KINDLING THE LIGHT, a Hanukkah concert celebrating Judaic music from around the world. They will play and sing a variety of Klezmer ballads, folk songs, theater and liturgical pieces in Hebrew, Ladino, Yiddish, and English on accordion, violin, guitar, electric bass, mandolin, piano and percussion instruments.

Restorative Yoga with Mindy Caplan

1 1/4 Hours of PURE BLISS.

Restorative Yoga slows down a hectic pace, soothes the nervous system, relaxes and restores the mind and body.

Instructor: Mindy Caplan

Please bring your own yoga mat, props, and yoga blankets if you have them. Orders for blankets for home use will be taken after class. Delivery will be arranged by the instructor.

The Jewish Community Center is excited to once again host notable Jewish authors from across the U.S. in an effort to promote Jewish literature and present the community with thought-provoking programs. The following five outstanding authors were selected as the best speakers for our community from over 260 on the 2017-18 Jewish Book Council tour: Lauren Belfer, Jeremy Dauber, Bruce Henderson, Tova Mirvis, Joan Nathan

Yoga for Vets

Yoga assists in welcoming home war veterans and provides tools and research based healing impacts for veterans in managing mental, emotional and physical challenges related to military stressors and combat. Participants will gain an understanding of which yoga postures, breathing methods and meditation practices are effective during and after deployment in managing stress.

Karate For Kids

Our goal is to teach the fundamentals of Shotokan Karate. This includes: Kata, Kihon and Kumite. Our students will learn self-defense, self-awareness, coordination, flexibility, self discipline. They will develop self-confidence, self-esteem and self-control.

Progressive Muscle Recovery

Oct. 28th: An introduction to progressive muscle recovery and fascial unwinding. Explores relationship between lower and upper body. Movement combined with direct pressure techniques are designed to take muscle recovery further into tissue restoration.

Nov. 11th: Explore relationship between hips & shoulders for spinal health. Challenge these high tension areas with targeted direct pressure utilizing the STARwrap combined with movements designed to break repetitive patterns along the spine and within the upper body.

Nov. 18th: Explore joint restrictions in lower body beginning at the feet and moving to ankles, knees, and hips. Dive deep into muscle tension in each joint utilizing the STARwrap.

Nov. 25th: Beginning at the head, unwind neck and shoulder tension down into the elbows, wrists and hands. Gentle movements that challenge mobility restrictions combined with direct pressure techniques.

Kettlebell Workshops with Tracee

Kettlebell training is a great way to build strength and lean muscle and burn through body fat! Tracee has been a Russian kettlebell instructor for over 7 years, and in these workshops she will teach you how to perform basic kettlebell movements with proper form and safety. Each workshop will focus on a couple different movements to help you master proper form and technique.

An invigorating class geared specifically for kids 6-12 years of age. Our expert trainer Nick has developed a cardiovascular, strength, and fitness training program with an exciting and unique approach! Your kids will be engaged in a safe and action-packed environment! Let them experience how enjoyable fitness and working out can be. Classes are 45 minutes each session, once per week, for six weeks.

A great way to train for personal fitness, swim competitions, and triathlons. Stroke development will be analyzed and competitive skills developed. This class is for 19 years and older. Must have basic knowledge of all four strokes.

Our instructors will help you learn to swim and develop your swim stroke. Private lessons are for 30 minutes and are open to all ages and abilities. Semi-Private lessons are for 2 or more swimmers with similar skill levels. After we have received your online registration, one of our instructors will call you to set up an appointment.
