Conversational Hebrew for Beginners

(12 weeks) Wednesday evenings 6-7:30pm
September 9th to December 9
no class on 9/23 (Yom Kippur); 11/25 (Thanksgiving eve)
$120 member; $144 non-member (+ textbook, about $25)

WELCOME! SHALOM!
This course is designed as a beginning Ulpan. You
will learn the Hebrew alphabet, basic reading, writing
and conversation.
There will be light homework such as listening to Israeli music, watching Israeli films, and reviewing class work.

THE TEXT We'll be using the Teach Yourself series' Complete Modern Hebrew (includes (2) CD's) by Shula Gilboa, available on Amazon.

THE INSTRUCTOR My name is Aaron Cress. I have a BA in Linguistics from UNM and over the years have occasionally taught private Hebrew lessons. I lived and worked in Israel for three-and-a-half years of my early twenties, including a stint in the Israeli army. By no means am I a Hebrew scholar or credentialed instructor of the language. I simply have a decent grasp of it, and love sharing my knowledge. I have designed this course to cover only the barest rudiments of modern Hebrew, but to inculcate them very thoroughly.
