The JCC's Pro Fitness Center is situated primarily on the second floor of the JCC.

The 10,000+ square foot fitness facility contains the latest equipment — a complete cardiovascular line, resistance and stretching area, indoor track, and full service locker rooms with steam rooms.

The Pro Fitness Personal Training program is a comprehensive fitness program that offers a variety of services. Our highly qualified staff possesses credentials ranging from university degrees to licensures and certifications from nationally accredited health and fitness associations.

The Jewish Community Center's Pro Fitness Personal Training program provides quality individualized training to those who desire professional fitness instruction and motivation for goal attainment; easily accommodating the needs of all types of individuals, from the beginning exerciser to the elite athlete. One of our certified personal fitness trainers will work with you to devise a program that is tailored to meet your personal fitness goals and interests, as well as provide the necessary guidance to achieve your personal best. From weight loss to strength training, to reconditioning after an injury, our staff has the education, credentials, expertise and resources to develop a program that will best meet your needs.

Complimentary Personal Training

As a member of the JCC, you will enjoy two complimentary 1/2 hour personal training sessions with a member of the Pro Fitness Personal Training staff. The initial hour long meeting includes a review of your medical history, basic exercise recommendations and equipment demonstrations. More importantly, we get a chance to get to know you and can recommend the most appropriate programs for your goals. Don't waste your time, or even worse - injure yourself in the fitness center.

Schedule at the upstairs fitness center desk or with a trainer as soon as possible! Ask a personal trainer if there is any personal training deals available to new members.

Note: Smart Start Orientations and parental waivers are required for members under the age of 18 and a completed PAR-Q form is required for everyone.

Our Personal Trainers are here to analyze your current condition, to design a comprehensive, personal fitness program to meet your needs and help you achieve your goals, to teach you correct form and technique of exercise, to monitor your progress, and...TO MOTIVATE YOU!

Your Personal Trainer, through support and expertise, will keep you moving towards your goals, while maintaining a positive and genuine concern for your progress. Your personal fitness trainer will support you towards your goals while challenging you to keep you focused on the rewards of fitness.

When you reach your fitness plateau, your Personal Trainer will redesign your workout to advance you to the next level, so you will continue to achieve the maximum benefits for your efforts. By changing your workout, your program will remain fresh and new, keeping your interest and challenging your body.

Fitness Assessment/Health Screening

A fitness assessment/health screening is a prerequisite to personal training. Once your fitness trainer or assessor obtains your fitness testing results, they will be calculated and explained to you along with a detailed educational report. Your fitness trainer or assessor will then develop a customized exercise program tailored to meet your personal fitness goals and interests.

For any effective plan, we need a defined starting point. This includes aerobic screening, and strength, balance, and stability screens. Fitness assessments are vital for locating potential problems and getting baseline numbers on your level of fitness. At the end of the assessment, we will review the multi-page report and make key exercise recommendations based on your results.

Nutritional Counseling

What you eat on a daily basis does influence your health and mood regardless of your age. Diabetics, athletes, and members who want to control their weight should consider professional nutritional counseling. A proper nutrition plan will be designed to fit your needs, goals and current state of health.

Ruth Baldwin, MA, RD, LD, Nutrition Consultant is now available by appointment to assist you in assessing your current food and nutrient needs. Ruth has witnessed incredible success with her consulting business and through the JCC Body-for-LIFE Challenge. Call to find out more about her other motivating programs. Policies and Procedures

Cancellation Policy

If a participant of the Pro Fitness Personal Training program is unable to make their appointment he/she must call the fitness center desk at (505) 345-4512, as well as their personal fitness trainer to cancel. The session must be cancelled 24 hours in advance at which time the session may be rescheduled. If the participant fails to call and misses his/her appointment, it will result in the forfeiture of that session.

If the participant decides to quit the Pro Fitness Personal Training program prior to finishing a purchased package of sessions and requests a refund, a 15% processing fee will be charged against the amount refunded.
